Token Cost Tracking explains how gloria.dev prices usage, attributes it to people, machines, and projects, and keeps reporting separate from settings. Use the Usage dashboard to review reporting. Use Preferences to manage billing mode and machine ownership.

Usage dashboard

The Usage dashboard is the live reporting surface. It shows per-user, per-provider, per-agent, and per-model breakdowns. It applies current model rates when it loads, shows actual spend next to real subscription-pricing billing calculations, and separates actionable usage from non-actionable usage.

The Usage page shows a by-project breakdown for org usage, so project totals appear alongside the rest of the reporting views. Ask your agent for a project-level cost summary when one project needs the same data in a narrower view.

Unclassified usage still needs a billing mode decision, so the dashboard keeps it actionable. Issue #396 adds ambiguous and unattributed session lists to the dashboard, so those sessions stay visible. Unattributed usage still counts toward org totals until a later declaration or branch rename resolves it.

Usage reports what happened; Preferences changes attribution and billing settings. The dashboard reads those settings again when it loads.

Work item and project attribution

Gloria resolves the project from the active session and rolls the session’s cost into that project’s totals.

tag_session_work_item is a standing obligation for the session. It stays in the session transcript, so declare it again whenever the work item changes mid-session. The latest declaration wins, and branch renames trigger automatic rollup re-attribution when they change the right issue.

Preferences and billing mode

Preferences is the personal place to manage billing mode and machine ownership. It shows the signed-in person’s usage and owned machines, then lets them adjust billing mode for each provider.

The owned machines view shows which machines a person owns. When a machine gains ownership, future usage moves into the right user and provider breakdown instead of staying unattributed.
